Fundraisers are an important way to help us raise money that enable the PTT to provide educational and fun events for our students and their families. We have many ways that the OBCS families can support our fundraising efforts without spending anything extra, as well as opportunities for families and students to actively help with fundraising.

In addition to fundraising options listed below, we also have additional fundraisers throughout the school year. Some of these fundraisers are to raise funds for class field trips, and others are PTT fundraisers to offset the costs of PTT activities put on by the PTT throughout the year. Some examples of these activities are: Class Field Trips, Fall Hoe Down, Trunk or Treat, our annual Hero Dance, family Christmas party, book swap, ice and/or roller skating, in-school special programs, Charter School/Teacher Appreciation Week, PAW Day and much more! We couldn’t do what we do without your continued support!

Please also note that not all fundraisers put on at school are conducted by the PTT, and not all fundraisers benefit the entire school; many are Middle School-specific. The Middle School must fundraise nearly $36,000 for its three field trips during the school year: $20,000 for the 8th Grade trip to Washington, DC; $6,000 for the 6th Grade trip to Camp Y-Noah, and $10,000 for the Middle School trip to Cedar Point.

Our one big PTT fundraiser this year will be a Walk-a-Thon on October 5. It is our hope that proceeds from this one fundraiser will be sufficient to fund all programs for the year. A big thanks to our Walk-a-Thon Sponsors!

Some fundraisers will be mandatory in order to participate in the activity that the fundraiser benefits, particularly for 6th and 8th grade families, as portions of the proceeds for those fundraisers go towards their end-of-the-year field trips. Details on which those are will be coming home with the appropriate fundraiser details.

Giant Eagle Apples for StudentsGiant Eagle Apples for the Students is a very easy way for our school to earn things such as electronics, gym equipment, art supplies, books, software, and more. To register, you will need two pieces of information: your 12 digit Giant Eagle Advantage Card number (located on the back of your card, beginning with a 4) and our school code: 3222. Pass this information on to friends, co-workers, grandparents and anyone else you may think of. You do not need to have a child at OBCS to designate your card's proceeds to OBCS. To register, go online. If you have not created an account on Giant Eagle's Website, you will need to do so before enrolling in any program through Giant Eagle. Points are only earned on Giant Eagle purchases made between September 3, 2018 and March 17, 2019.

Gordon GO!Gordon GO! Gordon GO! is a free, points-based rewards program for organizations with members that shop at Gordon Food Service stores. Earn points on eligible items throughout the store. Point values are clearly marked on the shelf tag beneath each item. Earn a minimum of 1 point per dollar spent on all eligible items. Most items earn much more! GFS stores are open to the public. In additions to great rewards, members receive exclusive offers and savings opportunities just for them.


Office Depot/OfficeMax Give Back to Schools program credits our school with 5% back in credits for free supplies based on your purchases of qualifying school supplies. To enroll, simply give our school ID at checkout and we'll get credit!

The program is available for purchases of school and office supplies (paper, file folders, pens, pencils, crayons, etc.) made at Office Depot and OfficeMax store locations, by phone at 1-800-GO-DEPOT, and online at OfficeDepot.com.

BTFEBox Tops for Education. Box Tops is one of America's largest school earnings loyalty programs. Schools can buy whatever they need with proceeds from Box Tops submissions. You can help us earn Box Tops proceeds with the products you already purchase! For the 2016-17 school year, we collected $1,430.70 in Box Tops to support our educational and social programs (that's up 50% from the $950.60 for the 2015-16 school year but still down from $2,280.70 for the 2014-15 school year!). With your support we can make this year’s goal even bigger. If every OBCS student collected just 100 Box Tops throughout the school year (that's just a little over 10 a month), we could raise over $5,000 every year!

We also offer quarterly classroom prizes in both elementary and middle school for the classroom(s) who turn in the most Box Tops each quarter. Look for flyers with more details sent home each quarter.

There are several ways to help the school reach its goal and get involved:

  • Simply clip the Box Top logo stamp from hundreds of quality products from brand families such as General Mills Cereals and Fruit Flavored Snacks, Ziploc, Juicy Juice, Old El Paso, Huggies, Kleenex, Hefty, Pillsbury and Betty Crocker. Each Box Top is worth 10¢ cash and some stores offer coupons in addition when participating products are purchased. When sending in Box Top Labels to school, just place the labels and coupons in a sealed baggie or envelope, labeled with the individual's name and homeroom. This is very important so that the correct student and classroom gets credit for them for our contests.
  • By signing up at the Box Tops Website, you can link your loyalty cards and receive monthly coupons from stores such as Giant Eagle and Rite Aid for discounts on Box Tops products, as well as on-demand printable coupons directly from the Website.
  • Finally, by signing up to support our school at the Box Tops Website, you will receive updates on money-saving coupons from your favorite brands, mealtime recipes and chances to earn Bonus Box Tops for our school throughout the year.

We also earn money from recycling! Used printer ink and toner cartridges can be dropped off in the school office to be recycled.
